Band Camp Memories

In honor of band camp season, a few Mu Pi brothers would like to share with you our favorite band camp memories.

My favorite memory of band camp was my sophomore year when we had a “retreat” in a club room at Matthew Knight Arena. We all enjoyed sandwiches and snacks while we watched a football away game on the big screen. It was a great way to get to know our director better as he shared with us memories of our beloved Eric.                                                 – Brittany

My favorite memory of band camp was when the mello section had section dinner my freshman year. We all sat around the table and told stories and bonded so much. It was then that I realized that the mello section really is where I belong and that I was going to make a lot of lifelong friends in the OMB.                                                                                                 – Trudy

For me, I think that my favorite memory of band camp was when we made the impromptu jam sesh/marching tornado my freshman year. That was so much fun!                                       -Kelsie

The Western District Conference was an awesome experience! It was wonderful getting to meet brothers and sisters from all over the West gather together for a weekend of leadership, bonding, and music. We had a great turn out from Mu Pi as 15 of us got to travel to Seattle, Washington. As a new member of Kappa Kappa Psi, it was an eye opening experience to see how big this fraternity is and how there’s so much more than just being a member of your chapter. I learned a lot about what it means to be a leader and how my small role in the chapter can help contribute to the fraternity. One of the coolest moments I experienced at WDC was when we sang on the last day. Seeing brothers and sisters come together and sing was awesome. Being with a group of like-minded people who believe in helping our bands and music communities made me realize why I love this organization so much. Besides getting stuck in an elevator with 22 people, WDC was an amazing experience!
